We stripped the roof thatch from the roundhouse and stacked near the new build location. Along with any wood we could recover from the remains, although much of it appeared to have suffered from exposure to the elements. Making us realise that a replacement supply of wood, would be essential to the project.Meanwhile, there is the excavation of the embankment to look at, well as luck would have it, years previous, students had already extracted much of the material for a prime spot at Saveock. All that was needed was for us to tidy the location up and make it more circular in shape. As you can see there was snow in Cornwall, and thanks to our intrepid volunteers, the stripping of the round house roof was accomplished pretty quickly, even thought it was cold !
